Primary Purpose of Position:
  • The Loan Documentation Specialist is a key member of Clean Energy Credit Union’s loan team; ensuring that our member’s loan applications are processed quickly and efficiently. This role’s primary responsibility is assisting our loan officers with the coordination, preparation, and review of all loan documentation. This includes reviewing documents to ensure they are accurate and complete, and executing appropriate member follow up as needed. The Loan Documentation Specialist also helps to review and onboard loans to the credit union’s core operating system. This role frequently engages with members directly via email and phone to address loan documentation questions. This position may be eligible for remote work.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
  • Maintains checklists for loan documentation.
  • Uploads and/or scans documents and verifies documents are stored and viewable through imaging system.
  • Prepares loan documents for closing of secured and unsecured consumer loans.
  • Research member requests and requests from auditors/examiners.
  • Verifies accuracy of loan information and completeness of documents needed for loan to proceed to disbursement.
  • Collaborates with contractors to obtain documentation for review when necessary.
  • Works with borrowers and contractors as needed to complete loan documentation.
  • Provides high level of member service when communicating with members as well as coworkers.
  • Assists team members with loan closing and the remittance of loan funds.
  • Provides accurate information about credit union policies, procedures, and services to members.
  • Initiates ACH loan payment.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of current state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assists with projects, internal operations, and other duties as requested.

Desired Education and Work Experience
    • Minimum of a high school degree or equivalent required.
    • 1 to 2 years of experience working in an office environment, data entry or a financial institution. 
    • Associates or bachelor’s degree may be substituted for experience.
    • Understands and complies with all annual mandated training that pertains to the position including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/OFAC/Cybersecurity/Diversity & Anti-Harassment/Fair Lending
